Abstract: Psoriasis is a chronic, systemic inflammatory disease affecting the skin, with a high impact on patients’ quality of life. Despite the advances achieved in its treatment, there are still unmet needs.

The aim of this study was to identify and quantify the unmet needs in the management of moderate-severe psoriasis in Spain, from a holistic multidisciplinary perspective.

A mixed methodological approach was used where a multidisciplinary committee composed of 12 experts assessed the situation through a questionnaire and a discrete choice exercise. A total of 65 unmet needs were identified and classified into four areas: clinical, patient-related, decision-making and social.

Decision-making needs were perceived as the most urgent, followed by social, clinical and patient-related needs. Individually, the need to incorporate outcomes that are important to patients and to have treatments that achieve rapid and persistent long-term clearance of lesions were the most important unmet needs.
